Renewing your Medicaid benefits every year

By Aetna

Hi.

My name is Kaleigh, and I've been on Medicaid for a few years now.

I'm here to talk to you about...reapplying for your Medicaid benefits.

That's not so hard. It's easy to forget, but all Medicaid members must check that they're still eligible for Medicaid every year. Your state will want to know.

Oh. Best way to tell them depends on the state you live in. I mail in my renewal forms with copies of important documents that are needed for verification.

Some states let you renew your benefits online, but other states require you to reapply in person. Just contact your health plan and asks how to renew your benefits. They'll help walk you through it.

Next question.

Oh, very important.

If you don't renew in time, you will lose your Medicaid coverage, but you can find more information on aetnabetterhealth.com. Just select your state's health plan. Or you can call the member services number on the back of your ID card.

In fact, it's almost time for me to renew. I'm gonna check right now.

Aetna Better Health helps members understand the process of renewing their Medicaid eligibility and provide them information to reapply so they don't lose coverage.
